Nice, Mitch, but where's the pan shot showing her at 80mph?

My 1 inch scale 0-6-0 can't do 80 in scale speed.....

Great looking locomotive. I would like to own a real one some day

I must be getting old or senile, Mitch. I saw that one then forgot it. I knew you would pan her.

Thanks for sharing. Great stuff.

I will buy a ticket if they sell them, just to sit and watch her shift a string of R&N hoppers. I would think that would be an awesome fund raiser!

There's a good idea here...want to raise money? Just let the 113 be the Cressona shifter for the day. Set up a string line with the sun to your back, plunk yourself down in a beach chair with a cooler beside you, and watch her work the Cressona yard ...back and forth. I'll pay to see that! Bob, Andy...think about it!

Excellent photos, Mitch. Were they burning rail buffs, instead of coal, for fuel ... or just trying to see how many people they could squeeze in there? :-)

Hopefully they get some lagging and jacketing on that boiler during the next phase of restoration. Firing her "naked" for an extended period of time can't be the best thing for the boiler.

They've stated from the very beginning that the boiler sheets would not
go on until they felt everything was running smooth. The run went
extremely well, so I would expect the sheets to follow - maybe for
the upcoming season.

Unlike most, the engine looked surprisingly good "naked" but as you said,
it'll be more efficient with the lagging and sheets.

Can't say that I blame them for taking that approach. Unlike an engine that has a good operational history, this is new territory for both them and the engine. I would also agree that the lack of jacketing detracts very little from the appearance.

Wow! With a crew that size, no wonder steam disappeared quickly in the 1950's!
