On the same token, the first time I was standing next to the 2472 at Niles Canyon I was amazed as to how small or compact the locomotive was. Author: djansson SP 2467 needs the firebox rebuilt ($150K) and should move to the shop when the new "Museum Of Railroad Technology" gets set up at the former Sacramento SP shops (much restoration work to be done there first). The engine is owned by the City of Oakland and will eventually run on the Niles Canyon RR when back in service.
