Sorry I cannot say for sure…I wasn't driving the rental and was busy loading film when we came to this spot…of course somewhere in Missouri. Chris Date: 01/15/14 18:58 Author: Frisco1522 I can't quite place the location, perhaps around Rolla, but it's on the 1990 NRHS Convention Newburg trip. I'll have to study it some more John.
Date: 01/16/14 08:22 Author: wingomann The 1269 picture looks like it was taken in Sacramento. Note the missing handrails by the water filler hatch. I have seen it with two different styles of handrails on the tender. This must have been when they were making the transition between the two.

The shot I was thinking of is at Bourbon, and has a slightly different background, but given the lighting, smoke, and other details, is probably pretty close to Chris' shot. Date: 01/18/14 05:25 Author: ATSF5964 I remember climbing around on the 1269 when I was a kid- it was displayed in Nichol Park in Richmond, California. In the early sixties they put a fence around it after someone was hurt- broken arm I think- playing on it. Nice to see a photo of it when it was at the CSRM.
