Steam & Excursion > Gala Parowozow 2014

On Sept 13 & 14 my Wife and I had the pleasure to attend the steam locomotive gala at the railway museum in Jaworzyna Slaska, Poland. This family event featured 7 operating steam locomotives. 3 from the Czech Republic and 4 from Poland. Each engine was showcased for roughly an hour, being spun on the turntable, a runby and pulling a short trip with a single coach through the museum. The museum itself has roughly 30 steam locomotives. It was a perfect weekend to not worry about the camera and just enjoy all the treasures Poland has to offer, see some old friends and make some new ones. Enjoy, and thanks for looking.

Love it. The Poles love those big engine parades. I'm a little surprised they don't have fancy colored lights to light up the engines. I spent a wonderful day switching with Tkt48-18 at Jaworzyna about 5 years ago. Neat place.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful event. I really enjoyed visiting Poland but missed this. Maybe next time...
