The Beauty Of Steam In The Oregon Coast Range!
Author: LoggerHogger

As many of you know we at the Oregon Coast Scenic RR have worked very hard for the past 2 years to put back into train service many miles of track destroyed by the floods of 2007.

Just a few months ago the track just this side of the bridge in this shot ended in mid air. Thanks to the hard work of the OCSR volunteers and the support of Rick Franklin Corp shots like this of steam crossing the Nehalem River and heading up the Salmonberry Canyon are now possible.

The second shot shows the runaround track that is now back in service at Salmonberry. SP had a turntable at this spot.

Great images!

None of this would have been possible without the volunteers....

How far is the OCSR thinking of clearing the line?

The OCSR's lease is to mp 810.5. The top photo is mp 815.8, so we intend to open the line an additional 5.3 miles from that bridge.
