Well, that is real outstanding!

The down side will be, if the Sherman Hill Model Railroad Club hasn't already been kicked out of the roundhouse by the dl, they sure as hell will be soon.

One would expect the fabulous dl to be the main
speaker at Depot Days.

I suppose that after he screwed the Depot Foundation
and the Modelers, though, he shouldn't be too upset
that this is their payback.

Suffice to say....

The depot folks have very clear opinions about certain personalities at the steam shop. The selection of the speaker for Depot Days was a very political move. If the railfan world wants to think that the situations at UP are isolated to the RR only.....well, that may not be the case.

We are under the impressions that the SHMRRC has begun the process of finding a new home. As far as we know, there has not been a club meeting at the Roundhouse for a long time. Meetings are being held......just not at....

One of the best restoration contractors in the country, located right in Cheyenne, and they haven't been called yet to assist with the Steam Program also in Cheyenne, which quite obviously needs help, the disconnect that is apparent is amazing! === === = === JLH

Not "amazing" at all. There is NO WAY the current manager is EVER going to let anyone with extensive steam locomotive knowledge into that facility. The reasons are very obvious.

We are still in the roundhouse. It was close at one point to be out of there. The show and Depot Days are a great event here in Cheyenne. Glad to hear John is involved this year.

The combination of the SHMRRC train show with the Cheyenne Depot Day and the tours of the Cheyenne live steam (Cagney) operation are well worth the visit let alone the tour of the UP facilities and the addition to the Sherman hill club show of the UP's mobile locomotive simulator which will return again this year. Good times have been and will again be had by all.

There is your chance. When he goes to Denver, don't let him back in to Cheyenne. upkpfan

Why? A well-known in the area local company involved with steam has two functional new engines to talk about. The DL has NOTHING to talk about, because nothing is working and nothing is being worked on. This must have been a no-brainer for the program selection committee.

John will give an exceptional presentation and I hope it's put up online for all to see. As for the other guy, I'm sure dl will be the keynote speaker during this years "ed dicken's Day" celebration in Cheyenne.
