An incredible N-Scale model of the UP Roundhouse and Steam Shop in 1959 Cheyenne. Westbound empty coal train rounding the curve at Archer Hill. Edited 1 time(s). The cab of the 844 inside the Steam Shop. One of the water tenders outside of the Steam Shop. Date: 05/20/15 10:57 Re: Cheyenne Depot Days 2015 Author: badtanker1987 First of all nice photos. I wanted to go but I could not get the time off from work. Looking at your photos I am glad I didn't. To say I would be disappointed at the condition of 844 would be a understatement.

To replace them with chrome caps. It's what all the cool kids are putting on their engines. THAT is just stupid. Then again, guess he has nothing better to do since there isn't a Boilermaker employed there any longer. And how can he not be sure? What indication does he have aside from his imagination and his never-ending search for things to blame on his predecessors? Edited 1 time(s). ------------------------------------------------------- > I'm hoping Trackguy was joking with that comment. Sad to say, he was spot on with the truth. The current manager has lied to his superiors in Omaha that during the 844 complete firebox/boiler rebuild of 2000 thru 2005, "used" and "incorrect material" staybolts were installed. I'm surprised that Matt Austin has not offered SOME SORT of statement concerning all the "problems" the current manager has uncovered with Mr. Austin's design and workmanship. Mr. Austin posts a quite a bit over on RYPN, concerning such subjects, so I wonder why he has been so quiet, as he and his company are dragged through the mud by the UP's current manager. Date: 05/20/15 14:48 Re: Cheyenne Depot Days 2015 Author: NWClassJ That rebuild was featured pretty well in the video of the 844 sold by the UP....maybe Omaha should watch that and see what ctually was done during that rebuild....and how well it was done. Perhaps they would then see what the DL has been feeding them. hen again they wouldn't know what they were looking at.

That module in the Albuquerque NM club's N scale layout was built by "Buzz" Lenander. He IS a master modeler in my mind. His plan is to expand the Cheyenne module to include the west end Tower A section. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/20/15 18:25 by Bob3985. Lol The poor 844 that engine is going to be so screwed on a scale of epic proportions when the DL gets done with it. Its so sad to see! I can't wait to see how the inside of the boiler gets cleaned out and how its going to be done.
