Yesterday, PRPA did a special run in honor of their late founder Chris McLarney.  Many friends and relatives were on board the Oregon Pacific Railroad special run.  The consist included the McLarney caboose now owned by OPR, a favorite home away from home for Chris.   Rest In Peace Chris.    Arlen  (Picture:  the 700 crossing the MAX Orange Line light rail/Oregon Pacific Railroad diamond with the Oregon Rail Heritage Center in the background.)

Awwww...... That is a wonderful; tribute to a great guy.
SO glad the 700 was allowed to run in his memory.
Many thanks to all who made that possible.
And I am SO sorry he passed so untimely. 

And Portland had TWO 4-8-4s under steam and operating
ON THE SAME DAY!!    Wow.......

close but no cigar Margaret.......our Holiday Express operated Friday and Saturday, not Sunday.  thus the 4449 was running 11/27 & 28, and the 700 on 11/29.....now on 12/6 you will be correct.  both 4-8-4 locos will be running this Sunday.    Our HE runs the next two weekends, Saturday and Sunday.     Arlen
