611 May Excurisions
Author: andersonb109

I have two friends from the U.K. who want to come over to photograph the 611 on it's May 7 and 8 trips from Roanoke. I note these are up on the Museum's web site but tickets aren't yet available. They want to book their overseas flights soon. So do we know for sure that these trips will run barring some unforeseen mechanical issue? Do they have N.S. approval? Any insight appreciated.

Speaking only as a representative from one of the three other steam locomotive operators that works with NS (and VMT), they would not advertise the trips or begin ticket sales without NS approval.
The railroad is involved in the planning stages for these at many levels and VMT would not proceed without authorization, confirmation, and cooperation from NS.
