8444 Afton Canyon

Seen exiting Afton Canyon on the May 1989 trip to Union Station, 8444 shows a bit more smoke on the slight uphill
run to Yermo. I'm a 1/4 mile from the several hundred other people who got a similar shot, behind the outcropping
to the right and I still can be seen in the background of the Pentrex video!

Great photo of Afton canyon, back when the 844 (8444) was legit and it had on heck of crew. I personally love that paint scheme on her. She sure looked a lot better in those days compared to now. Now she has all the truckers toy store chrome all over her.

I got that Pentrex Video and I told my dad when I showed it to him that we both should've went to Cajon to see the "race" that was so big even traffic on I-15 just stopped to a standstill on Cajon Pass!
