Steam & Excursion > 4449 Departing Portland 1 Hour late at least ???

Almost 1 Hour Late now as I edit write this and last reoprt 4449 still at PDX union Station as of 9;32AM:

Radio traffic for the past 10 minutes or so about some sort of Mecial Emergency on AMtrak.
This radio traffic started at about 846AM.
I do NOT know if the involved train is the 4449 steam special or the Cascedes train that departed at about 8:30AM.
Does anyone have any further info on what train is incvolved???
4449 Twitter at ORHF has NO info as I post as of 9:01AM PT sat 6-24-17.
NO twitter posts updates since 8:45AM on the offical 4449 twitter.

4449 was scheduled to depart at 8:35AM from Portland Union Station.
This heard via the Vancouver WA railroadradio dot net feed.

4449 steam train shold be about 34 minutes late departing as of 909am.

Stopped again

The followins as of approx 910AM

Check that, she started up and was creeping forward but has been halted. Still at Union.

AS of now 9:30AM 4449 is almost 1 HOUR late and ATCS is showing the WIlammate Draw bridge open for MARINE traffic.
Looks like a rather lenghty delay.
I hope all goes well for this train wehever it finally departs

ATCS now has a NORTHBOUND lineup out of PDX union station Trk 3 as of 9:43AM.
This just MAY be the SP 4449 Steam special.

DS just now said "Seattle garbage is stuck on the
other side of the [Williamette Draw] bridge with
the bridge open." The bridge is open for marine
traffic, as can be sen on the Vancouver Terminal
ATCS feed. (You have to be in the Yahoo ATCS group,
which is restricted, to see this ATCS feed.)

Marine traffic always has the right of way over trains
when it comes to openable bridges over navigable
waterways, .

Looks as though the SP 4449 may be on her way soon.
The BNSF DS had said earlier that the 4449 was not supposed
to leave until 9:30. Remember -- this is a low-priority
special move.

Radio traffic just heard on Vancouver Portland feed.

Alas, one of the passengers from the train had to be taken away in an ambulance. While waiting for that to take place, problems with the AC in one of the coach cars were dealt with.
