Steam & Excursion > SOC bags the 1472 for White Pass & Yukon Route 73

Figured it was worth a mention that Steam Operations Corporation will be doing the 1472 on WPYR #73. Below is a copy of the "Announcement" that was posted a little bit ago:

"We are proud to announce that our company will be performing the 1,472 day rebuild on White Pass & Yukon Route 73! The locomotive is being transported to our partners Continental Fabricators Inc. in St. Louis where the work will be performed. ***Please note that the worksite is not open to the public!***"

Its quite the haul for sure. SOC does seem to do some good work (N&W 611 comes to mind).
