Steam & Excursion > 1949 humpDate: 11/20/17 19:00 1949 hump Author: tomstp The year of 1949 found some Texas & Pacific 2-10-2's still operating, not on the main line but, on the Lancaster Yard hump as three of them were still on the roster plus another #524 . Somewhat dirty, its light russia paint barely exhibits it's light gray-green color and the oxide red roof barely exhibits its color. It was enough to fool Trains Magazine writer David P Morgan who in a 1950 Trains Magazine article on the T&P stated that three 2-10-4's were busy on the hump even though others had gone to scrap. I guess the elesco feedwater heater and large tender with a doghouse contributed to the confusion.
