Steam & Excursion > More photos from the tourDate: 11/20/17 17:17 More photos from the tour Author: Bob3985 I was able to join the tour last Friday at the UP Steam shop. I was glad to be able to se around the facility and the work they are doing. Here are a few photos I took on that tour.
First are some refurbished and new 4014 injector parts. Second is the 4014 cab. Third is a peek inside the firebox of 4014. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 11/20/17 17:22 Re: More photos from the tour Author: Bob3985 Another few photos.
First is a photo of the 4014's boiler barrel. Second is a photo of the front engine for 4014. Third we see a crew member welding inside the firebox. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 11/20/17 17:28 Over in the roundhouse Author: Bob3985 And over in the roundhouse were the other locos of the fleet.
First we see UP 951 of the grand E unit trio. I remember when we got them back from VMV. Second was the DD40Ax 6936. Third was my favorite of all the locomotives I have operated, UP 3985 Challenger. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 11/20/17 17:32 More photos Author: Bob3985 And finally we see old 5511, UP 2-10-2 in the roundhouse.
Back over in the steam shop here is a pallet with the 4014 exhaust stand and a nozzle plate. And finally the exhaust delivery piping, rods and parts. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Edited 1 time(s). looks to have had some gasket issues and many of those bushings show some decent wear. Anyone know how many miles the engine had on it when set aside? Out Date: 11/20/17 19:06 Re: More photos Author: tomstp Bob: what is the diesel under the plastic wrap?

The camera would have been just to the side of the burner assembly in the firepan. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 11/21/17 06:00 Re: More photos Author: Bob3985 tomstp Wrote:
------------------------------------------------------- > Bob: what is the diesel under the plastic wrap? Spoony is correct in that the wrapped device is the rotary snowplow UP 900082. I have operated that and the UP 900080 a number of times plowing as deep as 15-17 feet of snow. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/21/17 06:50 by Bob3985.
