The combined railroad used the Southern Pacific name.
In the picture you have SP 18 running on Rio Grande trackage. If Anschutz had completed his purchases 30 years earlier you might have actually seen this happen in 1960. Does that help? In 1988 Rio Grande Industries purchased the Southern Pacific Transportation Company, not in 1998. Union Pacific bought the combined SP/DRGW in 1996.
