There's Big Boy, and then there's....
Author: jbwest

...this little gal. Ann Marie is a little Porter 0-4-0T, originally 30" gauge, built for Cortez Mining (near Battle Mountain, Nevada). After the mine closed before World War One the little engine ended up as an exhibit at a Las Vegas casino. The engine is now privatly owned, restored, and rebuilt to 36". The name was added by the current owners. Here it is operating for the Society for the Preservation of Carter Railroad Resources (SPCRR) at Ardenwood Farms Park in Fremont, CA.

Yes my friend Mark is one of the people who operate it and keep it running.

So, let’s see...

Kerosesne headlight.
Steam-jamb brakes...no ‘train brakes’.
Manual sander.
Link & pin couplers.
Oil cups (only) for valve & piston lubrication.

Right-out of the 1880s...

Some more of the cab

This is the best I was able to do to show more of the cab.  Not surprisingly the wash tub was for the coal supply.  Hey, it's a four man cab!
