Steam & Excursion > NW #611 visits Spencer NC Transportation Museum

I had the chance to make a quick trip to Spencer, NC and the North Carolina Transportation Museum.  #611 was doing some running featuring throttle time, fireman time and caboose rides.  The weather was great.  I also took part in a night photo session that featured some Christmas shots with Santa Claus.  It was a great day with the Queen of Steam.

There were some diesels that also were in and out and busy at Spencer. It was a busy weekend at the museum.  It was a Boy Scout weekend so the parking lot area was full of tents and Scouts.  Plus the regular train made several runs.

There was also a night photo featuring #611.  Many of the shots also featured Santa.  Things went very well.  Thanks to everyone at the museum and those that helped with the night session.  

The final shot has the crew asking Santa for coal.  Nice twist on the coal for Christmas theme.
