My youngest son Richard, my grandson Jeremy and I drove up to meet it and follow it down towards Fort Worth that day. Then Richard and his family followed it from the Denton, Texas area up to McAlester about 10 days later. Here are some of the photos we took on both days:
1. Jeremy Daniel Grant and UP3985 at McAlester, OK. 2. The late Lynn Nystrom at McAlester, OK. 3. UP 3985 departing McAlester, OK. More to follow . . . Larry W. Date: 01/04/20 15:21 Re: Some memories of U.P. 3985 Author: olddude41 Jeremy is a part-time railfan. He recently brought his new wife, Natalie along with his Dad and I when we chased UP 4014. So, it sorta't took. It was Natalie's first time chasing and photographing trains and she had a ball.
The attached photo shows Natalie Elizabeth Grant, Jeremy Daniel Grant (he's gotten taller), Larry W. Grant and Richard W. Grant. Larry W. Grant (oildude41) Dallas, Texas Date: 01/04/20 15:56 Re: Some memories of U.P. 3985 Author: IC1038west Good stuff. Thank you for the sharing.

It was a pleasure to meet you and your family. Such great photos of your offspring are encouraging in that there is a hope for future railfans. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Edited 1 time(s). They stopped at the old MKT Bellmead yard and shops and let us go up in the cab while they took on water from the local fire department. It was a fun day! Need to find those pictures!
