Steam & Excursion > New Hope and Ivyland #40 - Dec. 28th, 2019Date: 01/07/20 13:32 New Hope and Ivyland #40 - Dec. 28th, 2019 Author: PennRailVideos With an all Cabernet-red trainset, #40 works hard to keep the 45-minute schedule on a mild winter day.
This video isn't meant to be anything spectacular, just playing around with some of the video features of the Nikon D3400. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/10/20 07:09 by PennRailVideos. It is my understanding that all of the old Reading 90 pound rail has been replaced from New Hope to Lahaska. I was down once during the Christmas season to see Ross running one of the trains. I used to go down a lot more when Mike Muldowney was working there, but now he is tied up as the turbine engineer for a coal fired power plant in Washingtonville, PA. Thanks for sharing the video!

Yes Ron all the old rail has been replaced New Hope-Lahaska and they've done a lot of tamping also. Ride quality is light years better than before. There's also a new 600 ft. siding halfway between NH & Lahaska called Deer Park ( after the many whitetails in the area) which allows for 3 train ( 1 steam, 2 diesel) operations on weekends during the hyper busy Thanksgiving-Christmas season.
I ran from 12/14-12/24 and pleased to report that # 40 ran perfectly. As you can hear on Adam's video she's as square as it gets. We had great crowds and I'm guessing probably set a new ridership record?? Happy New Year, Ross Rowland |
