Lost the disc driver on the way to the museum?

There is a great fast running pacing sequence of this engine in the DVD "B&O Classics", filmed by Dr. Howard Blackburn in 1956 when the 5200 was running passenger trains out of Louisville, Ky to Cincinnati.

You know it will probably never happen but could you imagine this locomotive restored to operating status?

It's still there, but the positioning of the rods makes it harder to discern.  See: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2323990

It will never happen due to the mismanagement of the people in charge of that museum.  Do not go to the B&O R.R. Museum in Baltimore.  You will be completely disappointed and outrageous with the happenings going on there.  I am not making this up.

Unfortunately, I don't think that restoration is possible.  It was stored tin the old Mt. Claire shops when they burned.  The restoration is purely cosmetic.

Here it is in the B&O Museum in 2018.

I know the footage well!  It inspired a painting that I did, in fact, (inserted below).  I've always wondered why the 5200 wasn't modernized, as were so many of the presedent series pacifics.

Stop.  Just Stop.

The B&O Museum is in better shape than ever and is one of the top places in the country.  Quit bitching about the donated cars from 40 years ago.
