Sometimes... - EBT 12
Author: refarkas

Sometimes you hear such good news (The East Broad Top has been purchased and will be running again.) that you want to find an image to honor the news. I had a few EBT slides with this one on top. There is no photographer's name on the slide, but the important information is all here.
EBT 12 "Millie" is in Rockhill Furnace, Pennsylvania in August 1966.
Hopefully many photos like this will again be possible.

Amazingly, when /if #12 steams again you will be able to witness this exact scene today 54+ years later.

No.  They will have a high security fence installed around the turntable to "protect the children" and make turntable photography more difficult,  if not impossible.   You'll see.

"Air-powered" TT,   from the loco's trainline?
Along with the Armstrong Power option.
Classic!

I guess you're always going to be the "glass half empty" guy, even on news as wonderful as this. You're nothing if not consistent.

That's your right. But why you feel the need to share it constantly is another question.

Agreed. Greatest news in rail preservation East of the Mississippi in years and we have to hear about “issues with fencing??” Really. People are idiots these days. They will step in into a turntable pit and file suit against the property owner. Of course the OWNERS of the property need to protect themselves. Can’t we be happy for five minutes? I’m ecstatic. Stop with the ridiculous whining. Or buy the damn railroad if you have the master plan.

Yes, the operating RR will draw crowds...
So instead of old days, where the public had no interest in being in
dangerous RR properties,  we have the same properties attracting
the stumbling, bumbling public onto formerly disregarded properties.

So, wise operators will obtain insurance and wil be advised on ways to
reduce risk and liability costs.  Prudent business management demands
wise measures.

I will be there, with bells on....I WAS there in the 60s, both in winter and summer..
Always really enjoyed it.

Thanks go to all my compadres who made this come together, in a cooperative success.
This'll be fun...

W.
