Best message board to post a story?
Author: wcamp1472

Roy McCormack, Doyle's dad, was an NKP dispatcher at Conneaut Ohio,
in the 30s, 40s and 50's

He told us of the days when he controlled the single-track RR's passing sidings,
and controlling the CTC system to manage high speed meets of freight trains
powered by 700s---- where trains routinely passed each other without stopping...
All controlled by using strategically placed passing sidings...

I wanted to expand on the 700s' capabilities from "the specific",  ( 759 & 765)
single-engine experiences, to the 'general'.  To relate the role of a whole class of engines,
to a piece of the RR, where the trains performed a 'precision ballet' conducted by
one man at a CTC board ....and setting-up, in advance, multiple, opposing, non-stop 'meets'
all across the territory, between Buffalo & Cleveland... day and night..

Where is the most appropriate Message Board to tell some of the dispatching
stories Roy told me, in the summer of 68?

The REAL stories of the wonderful 700s...

W.

While I'm tempted to say "any of them, just so we get to hear it!" Railroaders' Nostalgia might get the most people looking at first.

I agree with Rebecca Morgan, but this story should also be posted on the Nostalgia Board.

That's where it goes, Nostalgia Board. Easy answer because it was from the past.

Post the body of your stories on the Nostaiga board and post a reference note on the other boards.

I see why they said the Nastalgia Board, but from my experience most of the stuff there is diesel related over the last 50 years or so. I kinda wish all steam related stuff would go to one place, either the Steam and Excursion, or start a "Steam Nostalgia" board.  So if it is steam related, I say post to the Steam and Excursion board, otherwise a lot of folks would never wade through all the diesel stuff on other places.  Are we talking text or audio clips here?

Wes, You post regularly to the steam  board.  I know many members do not frequent all or even many of the boards....but I would guess that your "followers" are well acquanted with the steam board.  My first impulse was to point you to the railroader's nostalgia board, but you don't post there....do you?

Thanks to all for the suggestions and reasons..

I'll probably post it on the the "Nostalgisa & History" board, with a "note"...
over on the Steam Board..

It's almost like you're stepping into the role MDO once filled with his Mad Dog Chronicles, a huge void ever since.  The anticipation is palpable in this court!
