Steam & Excursion > West of Durand, Michigan - SP 4449Date: 08/06/20 05:12 West of Durand, Michigan - SP 4449 Author: refarkas Here are my last two photos of Southern Pacific 4449 heading home from Michigan on July 31, 2009.
SP 4449 was slowly crossing the diamonds in Durand when I left to find a spot to catch her at speed. I tried several roads west of Durand until I got to this unknown location. She flew by me so fast I knew I would not catch up to her again, so I called off my planned chase and began heading home. 1.) Approaching at speed. 2.) Three railfans watching her leave. My brother and I tried to chase her when she came into Michigan. Caught her just over the Michigan state line and only caught up when she stopped in Battle Creek. Caught her again east of Battle Creek and saw her again when we rolled into Owasso. Ha!! Posted from iPhone |
