765 from last weekend
Author: dh1205

I drove out to Ohio to ride a few of trips behind the 765 on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.  The 765 is a beautiful engine and the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society should be very proud.  My first ride was Friday evening. I arrived early enough to catch the regular CVSR train before the 765 started running.  I also rode on Saturday and Sunday.  I really enjoyed all of the rides I took and felt the tickets were very reasonably priced.  They did multiple runbys at Indigo lake on each trip.  I am handicapped so I decided to stay on the train for the runbys. The air conditioning worked   well in the cars I rode in, even the dome.  Both the 765 crew and the CVSR staff was great to deal with.  My only regret is not chasing the 765 to get more pictures.  I cannot wait to see the 765 again.

Regarding the pic 11, That's Flats Industrial Railroad #1222. It's an ex. UP SW1500. They used to serve the grain elevator behind you before it closed last year. Fate of the railroad is unknown at the moment, but they did sell their 2nd engine #1202.

Very nice. I'm glad you enjoyed your ride and were able to get the special "taken with permission" shots.

The runbys are good ... I especially like the steam deleafing of the trees ... but they can be chaotic as people who are not accustomed to "photo lines" push to get their shot. The undisclosed location where you got your "taken with permission" is a much better atmosphere. I am glad that they were able to accommodate you.

I hope you make it back again and do a little chasing.
