Steam & Excursion > RBMN 2102 & 425 Double Header Ramble Leesport, PA this morning

I took a half hour drive to Leesport, PA this morning to catch the Reading and Northern's double headed ramble with the 2102 leading the 425. I knew that the crowds would be crazy this morning and made my mind up to incorporate them into the video.

Here's the ramble on its northbound run as well as a quick video of the chase locomotives that followed about 7 minutes behind for protection power. Note the excitement of the kids in the first video!

Real nice video.  I was wondering who would lead but suspected 2012 as it's the new kid.

How many will chime in....they should paint 425 black to match 2102?

Great video. A friend and I chased the northbound run and we actually made Leesport our very first stop out of five. I got the train on camera in Leesport where the dance studio is. All of the spots that my friend and I went to, just about everyone was on their best behavior thankfully with some exceptions.

Next generation of steam fans right there! Fantastic video!

I'll be riding the train three weeks from today. As much as I wanted to get that two way chase today, my friend who was driving me, also a railfan, had last minute family commitments later in the day. As a result, we both agreed to compromise by chasing the train northbound.

I rode the trip and it was fantastic !! As close to the " full monty" as you can come today. Tired tonight. Full report soon. Thanks again to Andy Muller & his  team for all they do to keep the steam flame burning brightly !!
