Here is a trio of photos of Frisco 1522 being steamed up at the Museum of Transportation on June 18, 2000.

Two days later, the locomotive was headed to Galesburg.  I was concentrating primarily on working a sound recorder that required me to work the microphone levels, so photography was an afterthought.  Also, the weather was crappy.  So were the photos.  LOL

I'm guessing this was for the annual Galesburg RR Days?

A shame I never got to see this engine run, as I used to live only a few hours from St. Louis. I did get to see her cold at the museum, but it's just not the same.

For some reason, her paint always appears to be dark green to me. I believe she is black, but whenever I see her, I swear she looks like she is just a very very dark green color! Does anyone notice this, or is it possible that she actually is dark green?

She is a lovely locomotive. She’d be at the top of my list of locomotives to see run.

I watched the volunteers refurbish 1522 in November, 1990. What a bemouth of a steam locomotive. A real pity that it's in storage instead of riding the rails.
