I'm not sure of order of dates on some of the service reports after Overhaul notes? For those who are curious, and for those who have been asking lately here on TO about condition of 6936. I hope some of you out there who know how to read the codes can help decipher some of this? Thank you ahead of time I've always loved this Big Jack, and used to chase/video whenever possible back in the 90's Many videos I have posted here on TO, just search "RailRat" "6936" in the Audio/Video sharing section. Please note the title of this thread, i.e. 6936, which is the last functional EMD DDA40X diesel electric locomotive in the world. Nothing to do with Challenger 3985. And sometimes or all the time, for some reason, I get 6936 and 3985 mixed up, and I have to double check any post or video title I created to make damn sure I didn't accidentally title it 6936 when it's about 3985, and vice-versa! Anything that shows "mod" are modifications that are scheduled. LU are for lubrication events. AD is accident damage and it also shows a class overhaul at the same time. EW is engine wash and LT is load test. And RF is road failure. That's all I can remember for now. 6936 was used fairly often until Bill Wimmer retired in 2008 ish. Not sure about after that other than as a shop switcher at Cheyenne. Sure hope she gets appreciated more where she is going.

"what is wrong with it and how long will it take to get on the road?" The response was pretty simple. "There is nothing mechanically wrong, it just needs a little electrical work"

mover work done. It certainly didn't seem to indicate the unit wouldn't be used. I believe there were three trips to North Platte before Ed set the unit out to rot for various ailments and I think all were addressed. Wouldn’t shock me if that was also in the donation agreement. Scott until they got stopped just north of CP Charlie in Lenexa. Sadly that's when they realized that something was amiss and put it back in isolation and DIC like it should have been. Gotta love all the rumors on where its headed and why. First NLR, now Ft Worth for a FRA inspection when it passed through North Platte. And even if it was going west to pull 4014, why wouldn't have been sent west, where it could have been inspected out there just the same. Will be interesting to find out the truth. My Dad always liked those units, we talked about getting one when I was a kid but my 4x8 HO layout was too small at the time.
