Never did get to run an Alco. I would have liked to though! They just never got down this way, at least never when I was working.

If you could be convinced to accept Blue and Yellow those 600 class DL-600's that Santa Fe used in LA as switchers were quite the trip to run also. Andy

I love blue and yellow, as I'm a Santa Fe fan all the way! I just unfortunately missed the Alco era altogether. By the time I got serious about railfanning, Alco's were on the way out. By the time I started working on the railroad they were all but gone.
