Once upon a time when one could sit by the Milwaukee/Soo diamond at Duplainville WI, you could get close up scenes like these. Soo 4442 North has 2550 and another 4400 series loco in charge of this train today. Date: March of 83. Dan

Milwaukee had a pretty cool sand tower at their Bensenville IL facility. An employee is sanding up SD-60 6058 in March of 90. 15 years already!! Dan

Also once upon a time when one could stand up on the Rock Island embankment at Blue Island you could capture scenes like this. Soo 6611 and CP cousin lead a Eastbound in March 0f 87. Dan

And also when one could walk around Dolton interlocking without getting thrown out. Soo 6613 leads a Westbound on CSX in 4-86. Dan

Great shot of Duplainville! Have any others handy?? I am modeling the tower and area circa 1986. TIA of you do!

Wow - a post from 18 years ago with some great memories.  That shot at Duplainville is the Soo Line I remember seeing there, though I had moved from the Waukesha area by 1983 when the pic was taken.  Thanks to the poster, if he is still on Trainorders.
