Katy in Temple Texas
Author: xtra1188w

Santa Fe is such a large presence in Temple, the Katy is often overlooked as also having a presence in Temple as well. Even though the names have changed and the colors are different, Temple still has TWO class 1's on their own trackage, just as it has been for well over a hundred years. (MKT/UP & GC&SF/AT&SF/BNSF)

Katy in La Grange Texas. LaGrange has a lot of Slavic descendants in the area, and it's a great area to either eat in the restaurants, or to get take out kolaches, and etc.

I imagine that much relief has been had here in times past with the Sears & Roebuck catalogue and the spiders in attendance. Nothing but first class facilities for the Katy's patrons.

OK, so I Googled "kolaches".
Will have to find some up here

Thanks for the show, Mr. Sweet.
I read your stuff while my grand kids
watch Sesame St.

Thanks for the neat pictures.
(My mother-inlaw (Czech descent) makes the best Kolaches with apricot filling!
One type is like a bread and the other type is a very flaky pastry dough
shell.)

Later,

Wow, Con, I have never seen that Palestine station before.
Thanks for sharing that one. As far as LaGrange goes,
the etc. in your comment might mean a certain "Ranch" that
once flourished just outside of town ???
