Date: 02/27/06 07:48 Binghamton Author: aehouse That's the old Chenango Street viaduct in Binghamton, unless I'm badly mistaken. The LV had a daily turn from Sayre to Binghamton via Erie and then E-L trackage rights from Owego to interchange with the D&H. The D&H also had a daily reciprocal run over to Sayre and back.
In the early 1970s, the Lehigh's train worked days, and the D&H turn worked nights. I believe the photo shows the eastbound LV turn. Art House Date: 02/27/06 09:01 Re: Binghamton Author: MRSLIDES With that Buffalo Creek 40' box car I am guessing Tift Street Yard, Buffalo.

Date: 02/27/06 13:19 Re: Lehigh Valley whereisit Author: kgmontreal Sayre trun arriving Binghamton. Leaving the Erie to swing north to D&H's Bevier St. yard.
KG Date: 02/27/06 15:36 Re: Binghamton Author: JPB You guys are good! It is indeed LV's Sayre - Binghamton turn exiting the EL for D&H at the Chenago St viaduct. Sorry for the backlit picture here...
I also added another day's run to Binghamton with an RS2 / RS3 pair leaving the LV tracks in Owego to gain access to EL's track 2 Date: 02/27/06 18:05 Re: Binghamton Author: aehouse mjbobb Wrote:

I was a trainman on the D&H in 1970, and worked our Sayre job a number of times. Running over the Erie to Owego, and then the Lehigh's branch from Owego to Sayre was always a fun change from working the trains north over our own main line to Mechanicville from Binghamton. I can't recall the symbols, but both our Sayre turn and the Lehigh's Binghamton turn connected with specific D&H trains to and from Mechanicville and the B&M connection. On some occasions, the southbound D&H train would be late, and the Lehigh's turn would just grab its caboose and run back to Sayre light. Art House Date: 02/28/06 02:30 Re: Binghamton Author: JPB A Lehigh Valley forum thread identifies the LV train symbols as OF-1 and FO-2
And I think the D&H trains were FO-4 & OF-3. The sharks weren't in use on the D&H turns until 1975, correct? Date: 02/28/06 12:08 Re: Lehigh Valley whereisit Author: mc5725 mc5725 Wrote:
