Author: agentatascadero Aaargh! I can't remember for sure, but believe it was in conjunction with a CSRM event, and there I was, in Woodland, in either 1991, or 1999. I think I went to Woodland to see the 1233 and the excursion cars, and what did I see but SMOKE in the distance, like I hadn't seen since before steam was retired, when one spotted trains by the smoke. 1233 was steamed up and performing switching chores, and making up a train for W Sacramento, the whistle echoing all over town. It was a regular, not photo freight, and I chased it to Sac. The entire line was good for no more than 10-15MPH, it was more like it waddled towards me as I waited. It wasn't too exciting, but it thrilled me to my soul to witness this operation.
