With the fog slowly moving in on early evening Oakland, SP FP7 #6458 is ready to depart Oakland from the 16th St. Station in January of 1972. It is the first season for the Fun Train to operate under Amtrak and it is still very much an SP train. From the F units to the tomato can passenger cars, there is yet very little visible evidence of Amtrak.

Running as an Extra, the #6458 has its white classification lights turned on.
