Nostalgia & History > Depot fridayDate: 04/02/10 13:10 Depot friday Author: alligatorfan Found some more depots on a recent trip back to Kansas.
1)Former Santa Fe depot at Pratt, Kansas now used as a lawnmower repair and retailer. 2)Former Santa Fe depot from Manchester now located in Abilene and used as a garage/storage building. 3) This last one doesn't look like a station, but underneath all this yuppiness is the former Santa Fe station from Pretty Prairie now located on the outskirts of Hutchinson. Last time I saw a photo of Pretty Prairie, ca.2000, it was deteriorating badly, but was still more or less unmodified. It had been a by-the-book 1910-style #3 for branch lines. Here's what it looked like in 1990: http://atsf.railfan.net/depots/prettyprairie.html Were you able to confirm with the owners that there really is a depot under all that?
