—Mac IIRC the "siding" from Glendale to the top end of the A-Yard at Taylor was called "the slide". Date: 05/17/11 18:40 Re: Train 808 at Glendale July 1960 Author: timz2 Sure nuff-- the 4/60 timetable shows 808
due into LA Yard at 2130 PST. Josserand gives the impression the dispatcher would never let a train get near 12 hours late. Too bad it's overcast-- I wonder how sure we can be everything's according to Hoyle. What if he had annulled 808 east of Burbank Jct? He would have to stop them there to give them that order? It was also used as a tail track at the top end of Taylor yard when crews would pull out long cuts to switch out, or double over, and at times used as a temporary storage track. July 1960 Author: SPLoopConductor Speaking of the "Slide"... notice in the photo it hadn't been extended to (and past) Glendale depot at that time. I wonder when it was extended all the way up to the Franciscan (dinnerware, bowls, etc.) Industries switch to the east main?
