Monsoon weather 36 years ago - SP style
Author: Super_C

The scene is of SP 8302 East climbing through the Cable Crossovers just west of the town of Tehachapi. Summer monsoon clouds are in full swing at the moment on this August 1976 afternoon. Normal hot dry weather has been replaced with moderated temperatures, a bit of humidity, and no sun.

The hoghead's mood certainly has not been dampened judging by the friendly wave. Ah, those were the days!!!

Of course he's happy. He has an air conditioned cab!

The ill-fated 8302... it didn't live long.

Yup, sad toast, I was in the home office and I made a depressed sound out loud without intending too, Emily walked in and asked if I was okay, I just replied with "I think I'm getting old, I remember these days, I miss the SP"

At least I got a back rub out of the shot, I thank you for that!

How many of those lumber trains a day did we shoot back then?
