Historic Salem 1889 depot gets funds for work
Author: wjpyper

Reported in the Salem, Oregon Statesman-Journal this morning: "Building will be used as Greyhound station." After years of bureaucratic roadblocks and government screwing around, a plan is finally in place to restore the 1889 Salem Oregon baggage depot which sits adjacent to the Amtrak station on 13th Street. I would have liked to see it become a museum, but this is better than having it rot away. If anyone wants a pdf of the whole story, send me a PM with your private e-mail address. For more pictures go to http://www.statesmanjournal.com

$874,000 for the first phase and that doesn't include the interior??? And no completion date??? Greyhound is going to be using the north end of the AMTRAK station until it is completed.
