Two SP GP9s led the e/b Oakdale train on AT&SF, Stockton, California, 5/12/93. There's more at:

Did the train back out of the SP yard and around the westbound connection track to the ATSF before heading east?

I probably saw this train a few times, but I don't remember how they usually ran it out of Stockton (after they abandoned their own line).

Gary, I don't remember that detail on this date; but I do remember that transfer runs from SP to AT&SF at this time pulled out of the SP yard going west on the AT&SF, and then backed east into Mormon Yard. An example was posted on the Heritage Images page recently. From the location of the GP9s in this image it appears that they had backed out of the SP yard w/b on AT&SF. Gerry

Gerry,
Did you ever get a chance to photograph the Kentucky House branch local?

No, I didn't, unfortunately. Gerry
