Back in the mid-1990's after the UP got the CNW, it looked like the Northwestern took over the WP Feather River Route.
This was an eastbound APL train at Pulga, Ca.

That lead engine is #8701 which is one of the CNW Twins. Its nice to see it when it was new.

Z-toppers were pretty snappy in their day.
