More Espee diesel photos from the SOC-NRHS archives
Author: TonyJ

No working outside The Rogue Valley in southern Oregon for a while. With plenty of rain and snow in the forecast for the next 6 or 7 days I'll stay inside our chapter's museum and work on our archives at the Medford Railroad Park. Here are a few more photos from the donated collection of Bob Foley of Napa, CA.

Love those PA's, good stuff as usual. Thanks for posting them Tony.

Great shots! Looks like non-panchromatic film, which always turns the Daylight Red to an impression of near-black.

Very interesting photo #1 . . . how long did SP have that paint scheme?

The paint scheme was for the "Golden State" streamliner. They were ordered this way in 1946, but according to Diebert & Strapac, "... by the time sufficient lightweight cars (painted in matching colors) had arrived to fully equip this trains, the E-units had been repainted to standard Daylight red-and-orange." I don't know when the last was repainted.
