The Shasta Huff 'n Puff (remember the Sunset mag ads?) and the Roseburg Mill in Mt Shasta when the local economy was vibrant and busy with forest products. sphogger Date: 10/07/13 18:04 Re: Shasta Huff N Puff Author: photobob Brings a tear to my eye.
Date: 10/07/13 19:45 Re: Shasta Huff N Puff Author: TCnR That would be the first photo that I've seen of the 'Mill' in the City of Mt Shasta. The granite plug on the hill is a definite location guide.

Somewhere in a binder I've got another horribly washed out Rsoeburg photo with chip gons. I'll have to dig for that sometime. Might be worth trying some Photoshop magic on it. sphogger Date: 10/07/13 20:17 Re: Shasta Huff N Puff Author: CA_Sou_MA_Agent sphogger Wrote:

Indeed, Ross Perot's giant sucking sound ended up leading to China. sphogger Date: 10/07/13 20:45 Re: Shasta Huff N Puff Author: TCnR Wow, very good. Pretty serious timber.

Shasta Pine and Manufacturing mill used to be south of town, or was where that P&M Cedar mill was next to the McCRRR on the north part of town, I think there's a Coca Cola Bottling plant or something along those lines there now.

Shasta City, between the SP main and South Mt. Shasta Boulevard, just north of where the railroad passed under I-5... https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=41.295317,-122.308087&spn=0.008351,0.013797&t=h&z=16 P&M was a separate operation, it started out as Cooper's Mill and then was a P&M Cedar operation for a long time. They closed down in 1990. Coca Cola (Dannon) operated a water bottling plant there for a while, but they closed down around 2010...however, within the last week Crystal Geyser purchased the old plant and has announced it will be back in operation by the end of next year.
