Here is a quartet of rather artsy photographs from a railfan named Art claims no special artistic talent when it comes to shooting in an artsy-fartsy style. All evidence to the contrary, I just think he’s being a little modest. One un-alterable fact I’ve learned in my years as a railfan photographer is that Art is where you find him (oops, I mean it). 1. Santa Fe rotary snow plow 199361 poses at Ness City, KS in November of 1991.

2. A cold, dark & dreary scene of a Santa Fe local approaching Abilene, KS in December of 1989.

3. Santa Fe 4-8-4 3751 basks in the adoration of several dozen spectators at Wichita Union Station on September 3, 1992. This view from above the cab of sister 4-8-4 3768 now part of the Great Plains Transportation Museum in Wichita, KS.

4. Santa Fe caboose 999291 brings up the rear of a westbound pig train at Matfield Green, KS in July of 1977.

Whenever I see "WAG" on the page my mind set reverts to the Wellsville, Addison and Galeton
in Pennsylvania. Long abandoned Pinsley short line.

I'm lost in the crowd at Wichita. Nice overview Art.

My wife and I were very fortunate to have gotten to ride that train through Wichita. It was a nice stop at the museum and we got to detrain in Newton.
