WAG Wednesday: Art for Art's sake...
Author: santafe199

…with apologies to the British band 10CC

Here is a quartet of rather artsy photographs from a railfan named Art claims no special artistic talent when it comes to shooting in an artsy-fartsy style. All evidence to the contrary, I just think he’s being a little modest. One un-alterable fact I’ve learned in my years as a railfan photographer is that Art is where you find him (oops, I mean it). I’ve known Art since 1978 and have shot with him on numerous occasions so I can say first-hand that...

Art has always had a little Art in him!

So it is with tongue firmly in cheek I hope you can find some Art in these 4 random photos from the collection of a shyly artsy fellow named Art…

1. Santa Fe rotary snow plow 199361 poses at Ness City, KS in November of 1991.

2. A cold, dark & dreary scene of a Santa Fe local approaching Abilene, KS in December of 1989.

4. Santa Fe caboose 999291 brings up the rear of a westbound pig train at Matfield Green, KS in July of 1977.

Whenever I see "WAG" on the page my mind set reverts to the Wellsville, Addison and Galeton
in Pennsylvania. Long abandoned Pinsley short line.

Funny you should mention the WA&G. It turns out that WAG has indeed shot some WAG:

My wife and I were very fortunate to have gotten to ride that train through Wichita. It was a nice stop at the museum and we got to detrain in Newton.
