Nostalgia & History > Seems like a good time for a Katy photo

Not sure photographer, (possible Raymond George) but was scanned from a Katy RR Historical Society calender.

Location is near Atoka OK at the North Boggy Creek bridge.


For comparison, a Preston George photo, same bridge but opposite end, "slightly" different era.

Here is a model I scratchbuilt of the bridge in HO scale. Photographer
on model scene is Preston George taking the steam photo in above pic.
Steamer is Athearn 2-8-2 I modified to mimick the MKT mikado.

Blair Kooistra photographed this shot and added smoke effects for a magazine article.

Picture 3 had me thinking it was real until I realized that the railfan's clothes were too neat and clean.

Wow, nice model, layout/bridge scene and great photography/Photoshop work by Blair!

I don't think so. I think it's the same end, but on the other side of the tracks. Note where the trestle bents are. The are both on the end toward the photographer.
