Great variety!  It was hard to beat the sound of five GE's on a southbound coal train from the frontage road west of I-25 between Castle Rock and Larkspur.

That was the standard set up for power at that time.  I was working as a condutor at this time.  Five up front and two manned pushers on the back.  It was cool because the old GN SDP40's were in two and three unit pusher sets.

oh wow, remember those LMX lease units, started seeing them when I was working for Sperry Rail Service all through Nebraska Div.  Once I started dispatching I hated to see them in a lineup because they were such pieces of junk.  That was where I first heard the phrase GE does not stand for "good engine"

Yes 1st 3 are at the grade crossing just off I25 at Larkspur, pretty sure 4th is at Monument and 5th at the former lake at Palmer Lake :).
