The Orem Inter-Urban (officially the Salt Lake and Utah RR) was fairly late in the game for electric interurban railways.  According to the Hilton & Due book, it opened in 1913  with internal-combustion motor cars, and the electrification was completed later that year.  But the line deteriorated in its later years and it was abandoned in 1946.  One SL&U car survives in operating condition: Control trailer observation car 751 is preserved at Western Railway Museum near Fairfield CA, and the MU control system has been restored so it will work in a train with Sacramento Northern 1005.  Note the air whistle in the second photo--it's similar to a Pacific Electric "trombone" whistle, and makes Southern Californians feel right at home.

On the SL&U it had walk-over coach seats and no controller.
