A Few Windsplitter Pictures
Author: MartyBernard

Here are some Wind Splitter pictures, i.e., photos of Virginia & Truckee 22, a McKeen motor car taken October 29, 2011. What a beautiful renovation by the volunteers at the Nevada State Railroad Museum.

Enjoy,
Marty Bernard

Those porthole windows are heavy!  I know because I lifted one open a couple of years ago.

It's absolutely beautiful!  Congrats on a superb restoration.  One question.  Everytime I've ever seen it running, why is someone always standing on the bottom step of the door?   Just curious.

The day I took that picture the guy on the bottom step was the volunteer being the conductor.  Can you think of a better place to stand?  You are actually in the middle of the passenger compartment.

[Edit] Come to think of it, that position let's him controll the only passenger door.

In my humble opinion, that center door is the only place you can see anything ahead from the passenger compartment.

What other McKeens are preserved?  I presume this is the only one running.
