Used to have a hogger that worked that goat. He was called "Sanitary Jake". He would cook bacon on the back head of the engine for his lunch.

Curious because they use a ten-wheeler for switching.  But then the drivers look small for a ten wheeler.  What was it used for when new?

Engine 2381 was built in June 1920 at the Company shops (it doesn't say which one). It had 69 inch drivers and was probably used in passenger service during its early life, most likely the Commute operation between San Francisco and San Jose (however, there were other minor commute operations other than the Peninsula on the SP in 1920).
