CB&Q Inbound Morning Express Dinkey
Author: MartyBernard

An E8A, 5 gallery cars, a single level coach, and a coach/generator car all on the Zephyr Track flying through Westmont, IL on a frosty January 4, 1965.

Enjoy,

This is the first photo I have seen of heavyweight coaches (other the the gen. cars) mixed with the bi-levels.

Actually it was not that uncommon on rush hour trains during the transition from single level to bi-level cars.  Maybe I can did up some more.

I seem to remember a lot of off peak trains running with those HW converted combine power cars in the early sixities, in fact for the three odd times I road the Q to Brookfield or Downers Grove then it was the "norm. "  I recall seeing three of them in the Witchita Falls, TX museum many years later looking pretty much like they did in the early sixites.
