we started the day in San Bernardino seeing #17 or I guess Amtrak #3 with FP45 # 5944 leading Ended the day at Searles Jct. Lee Meyers, Dave Smith and Andy Potter I liked rail fanning with friends, it makes a difference ! His specific yard job duties I do not know. "Diesel" used to wear Headphone type ear protection, the only employee I know that did, while the rest of us used foam earplugs. His engineer's silhouette was unmistakeable when approaching on an oncoming train. I haven't seen him in years, he may still wear them.
