An Amtrak Hiawatha Service Train in 1989
Author: MartyBernard

AMTK 196, a GP40H, with Train 335 to Milwaukee at Western Ave., Chicago, IL on August 21, 1989.  Tower A-2 is behind the unit in Photo 3.  The train is coming up the Milwaukee Road (CMStP&P) from Union Station, turning right and crossing through the diamonds with the Chicago & North Western, and will continue on the Milwaukee north to Milwaukee, WI.

Enjoy,
Marty Bernard

That's an oddball consist.  I imagine the ex-C&NW bi-levels didn't last too much
longer after the horizon cars arrived.  Then it was the ex-metroliner cab cars with
horizon's and GP40TC's.
